Step UP! celebrates The 13,000+ people in Australia with Down Syndrome
Through October and November, Step UP! events across Australia bring people together to walk, socialise and enjoy activities and entertainment, whilst raising public consciousness of diversity within the community as well as raising funds to support people with Down syndrome and their families.
As Australia’s largest annual Down syndrome community event, Step UP! is dedicated to improving the lives of people with Down syndrome. People with Down syndrome possess many wonderful talents and qualities, but most importantly they want to live a meaningful and productive life like everyone else!
We are holding a number of separate events across Queensland during October.

We'd love for every family to target to raise over $200 and every individual over $100. Let's see if we can build on the success of our Bridge to Brisbane fundraising and beat the other States and Territories!!
Prizes will be given for the biggest individual and family fundraisers.
Promote your local event
We'd love the whole community to come to the Step Up events so if you'd like to promote it at your kindy, school, workplace or anywhere, download these posters.
Where do the Funds Go?
Funds raised by Step UP! Brisbane will go towards developing Health and Fitness programmes as well as supporting playgroups.
Funds raised at the regional events will stay in the regions to provide support, services and information to empower people with Down syndrome and their families.
If you want to see what other States and Territories across Australia are up to and how their fundraising events are going, have a look at the Step Up for Down Syndrome website.
